The Most widespread defects are backlog of wall-paper from the basis, change of colouring of a surface of wall-paper, an inexact joint, rupture of wall-paper, glue penetration on an obverse surface, occurrence of different swellings and a sinuosity.
Lag behind wall-paper the basis can at wrong drawing of glue, the damp basis (constantly humidified), bad preparation of a finished surface - the colourful glutinous covering is not removed, the basis is badly protected, there are roughnesses of surfaces, plaster is not repaired.
That similar defects did not arise, it is necessary to carry out all recommendations about pasting of surfaces by film and rolled materials. First of all, it is necessary to prepare very carefully surfaces under furnish. If backlog nevertheless has occurred, it is necessary to paste over this site anew, having executed all councils about surface preparation.
Colour of wall-paper can change at use of hot paste, at penetration from the basis on a surface of the substances decomposing the colour press on wall-paper (alkaline salts, the substances containing tar etc.). It is necessary to replace the sites damaged thus with new wall-paper, preliminary having closed the alkaline basis a nitrovarnish layer.
The Inexact joint between separate panels appears in connection with careless obrezkoj edges of wall-paper, and also the unequal humidifying of panels causing non-uniform them usadku. Joints happen are appreciable also at gluing of new wall-paper on old if joints of old wall-paper are not smoothed out by a grinding paper. In this case such sites should be re-stuck anew.
Rupture of wall-paper occurs because of cracks on plaster or at a deposit of walls more often. In this case the damaged site is necessary for clearing of wall-paper, cracks to close up a plaster solution, and a surface to paste over mitkalju, a gauze or the punched paper tape intended for pasting of joints, cracks, etc. The unsteady basis, for example badly fixed wooden partition also can cause ruptures of finishing materials. In this case preliminary all surface paste over with a fabric. Films on paper and fabric bases at a label on the fragile bases are steadier against changes of their geometrical sizes as can be stretched, without being broken off. Therefore zaklejka a fabric in this case it is not obligatory.
Glue Penetration on an obverse surface of wall-paper occurs in connection with long keeping of humidified wall-paper before a label, at drawing of a thick layer of glue, and also at use of too hot paste.
Swellings and wrinkles appear at wrong smoothing of wall-paper, at their gluing on not dried up basis. Strong paste at its drawing on thin wall-paper also can be at the bottom of swellings and wrinkles.
The Big swellings on wall-paper can be cut cross-wise, to grease the back party with glue, and then accurately to drive into the corner. On small swellings do a cut by the razor, accurately squeeze out glue, and then prokatyvajut this site the platen. If there is a necessity, swellings fill with glue by means of a syringe.
The Sinuosity of the pasted over surface arises more often because the panel is pasted not strictly vertically and incorrectly smoothed. In order to avoid it it is necessary to watch, that the top edge of wall-paper has been cut off at right angle to lateral, and besides, especially carefully to glue the first panel.
Other defects of a finished surface Are observed also. Quite often there is a pollution of an obverse layer of wall-paper because of negligent performance of works: careless folding of panels, the dirty tool, badly wiped by rags from hand glue.
Care of wall-paper consists in periodic clearing of a surface by a vacuum cleaner, a sponge or a dry soft rag.
a Fig. 28. Repair of the damaged sites of wall-paper :
And - applying and fastening by means of a self-glued tape of a new piece of wall-paper to the damaged site and a patch cutting together with the damaged site; - removal of the damaged site with the subsequent gluing in of a new piece of wall-paper
If it is necessary to replace small on the area the damaged site for this purpose enough to cut out it in the form of a rag of a squared shape and on its place to paste another. Do it as follows. Take sheet of a dense paper or the cardboard which has been cut out in the form of a rectangle which at overlaying on the damaged site completely will block it. Then on the damaged site impose a piece of a new material, and over it a template from a dense paper or a cardboard. On a template a sharp knife or the razor cut out a patch together with the damaged site which after that tear off from a surface. Thus it is necessary to watch, that edges of the cut out site and a patch have not been damaged. After that to the place of the cut out site paste a patch (fig. 28).
At repair of wall-paper with difficult drawing it is necessary to choose such site of a panel for a patch that it corresponded to a repaired site.
If thin, a patch it is possible to paste wall-paper over damage. However in this case it is necessary to do it not rectangular, but curvilinear, repeating drawing contours.
